Project Overview

This project involved designing the cover illustration for the official web magazine published by the Korea Arboretum and Garden Institute (KAGI), a national institution focused on promoting ecological awareness and sustainable gardens.

My Role & Approach

I created an illustration that communicates both the serenity and vitality of Korea’s native flora. The goal was to evoke a sense of seasonal rhythm and natural harmony, while maintaining the institutional tone of trust, expertise, and public responsibility.

The visual style combined gentle color palettes, organic shapes, and a calm composition to represent the evolving beauty of Korean gardens. The cover was designed to feel peaceful yet engaging—suitable for both expert readers and the general public.

Design Outcome

The final illustration successfully captured the essence of KAGI’s mission, visually bridging scientific knowledge with emotional storytelling. It elevated the magazine’s visual identity while reinforcing the agency’s role as a cultural and ecological thought leader.
